Taking advantage of a flex friday, Walter, Tom, Hayley, Brooke, and I headed down to Apple Valley to do some climbing. Its about a 2 hour drive South of Ridgecrest to an area that looks a lot like the Alabama Hills. We spent about 6 or 7 hours there and all had a great time getting in a lot of good climbs.

Tom belaying Walter.

Me belaying.

Walter pausing to chalk up.

Almost there...

Hayley belaying me, and Walter in the background watching.

Past the hard part. Its easy from here...

Tom on the same climb I was just on.

And again from another angle.

This one was tough. I had to hang on the rope a couple times.

Walter about to crank on a couple little flakes.

Walter and Hayley.

This one was a lot of fun. It was very overhanging the whole way up. Hayley led it twice, and Tom and I each followed it. Maybe I'll have to go back and try leading it sometime.

Me rapelling down after pulling the gear at the top of the climb.

With the sun getting low in the sky, we did a couple last climbs.

Hayley making another good lead. This was a fun climb too, and I'm surprised I made it up after a long day of climbing.

Brooke on her last climb of the day.

Chalking up before finishing the climb.
